About this house rental
Leccino is one of three houses that are part of Podere Pornanino, a 36-hectare organic farm producing extra virgin olive oil. Pornanino is located in the Gallo Nero region, in the heart of Chianti, between Radda, Castellina and Vagliagli and is surrounded by olive trees, wooded hills and two small rivers.
The main farm house and the two stone barns, Leccino and Capannino, have been restored and refurbished to excellent standards all with the same warm and welcoming style.
Leccino is an independent house, very welcoming and comfortable. It includes a double bedroom with bathroom (bath and wall-mounted shower), a fully equipped kitchen and a large living room with dining area. The door opens onto a private terrace and garden overlooking the olive groves, ideal for enjoying the morning sun and the cool evening breeze. The terrace is equipped with table and chairs for outside dining and deckchairs for relaxing. The house has its own central heating system, mosquito nets on the windows, safe, satellite TV, DVD player, high speed internet connection / Wi-Fi, hairdryer, dishwasher, and stereo with CD player.
A very well maintained garden surrounds the houses. Nearby we find the swimming pool (6 x 12 m) with spacious solarium terrace, furnished with deckchairs and parasols. The swimming pool is open from mid-May until the end of September and is shared by the tenants of the houses and occasionally by our family.
There is a separate utility room with washing machine for the exclusive use of the accommodation.
Pornanino is accessible by 5 km of very well maintained unpaved road (strada bianca). The medieval town of Castellina in Chianti with an excellent choice of restaurants, canteens, coffee bars, Coop supermarket, post office, banks and a variety of other shops is 5km away, Florence 32kms and Siena 18km. San Gimignano, Volterra, Monteriggioni, Arezzo, Cortona and many other attractive towns are easily accessible by car. The property is 9 km from Radda in Chianti, another beautiful medieval hilltop town with its cobbled streets and also a good choice of restaurants and shops.
We only accept weekly bookings from Saturday to Saturday.
The local tourist tax is not included and will be charged on arrival.
Heating costs are not included and are calculated separately according to consumption.

Great hosts .super easy to work with . Quiet and relaxing . Very nice outside area and pool. It is remote , so you have to drive on dirt roads to get anywhere. Could use an updated bed and newer towels, but had a very nice time !

One of the best location we ever found in this regio. Ideal location to relax.
You do need a car because the house is 5 km from the road. Only accessible via the strada bianca.

We spent a lovely week in Chianti in June 2023. Francesca and Matteo were very wonderful hosts who generously shared their knowledge of the Chianti region from the natural habitat to olive cultivation and oil production. We learned a lot, enjoyed the beautiful and well-kept property with its wildlife (fox, pheasant and deer) and our hosts' recommendations of what to do reflected their passion for Chianti. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to experience Tuscany than to stay at Pornanino with Francesca and Matteo. The cottage was charming, clean and well maintained. The property is stunning and serene. Francesca’s recommendations for things to do were helpful in understanding what the region has to offer and Matteo’s seminar on the olive oil production at the property was enlightening and enjoyable. Overall, staying at Pornanino is an experience we highly recommend!
