About this apartment rental
Large, simple apartment house "Sonnheim", 5 storeys. In the district of Zen Stecken 900 m from the centre of Zermatt, in a quiet, sunny position. In the house: lift, storage room for skis, central heating system. Supermarket 700 m, restaurant 30 m, bakery 500 m, 10 minute walk to the centre, bus stop "Matterhorn Glacier Paradise" 200 m, railway station "Bahnhof Zermatt" 900 m. Mountain railway 300 m, ski rental 300 m, ski bus stop 200 m, ski school, children's ski school 600 m. Cabs cannot stop right in front of the house. The keys‘ handover takes place by the agency Interhome in Zermatt.
1-room apartment 30 m2, on the ground floor. Simple and practical furnishings: living/sleeping room with 1 double bed (2 x 90 cm, length 200 cm), dining table, cable TV and radio. Exit to the balcony. Kitchen (3 hot plates, toaster, kettle, freezer, electric coffee machine, fondue Set (cheese)). Bath/WC. Balcony 8 m2, east facing position. Balcony furniture. View of the mountains. Facilities: hair dryer. Internet (WiFi, free). Please note: non-smokers only. Maximum 1 pet/ dog allowed.

Well located within walking reach of all the cable cars. Good facilities so we could be self sufficient or eat out. Served as a great base for climbing some of the bigger mountians in the area

The unit was close to the Matterhorn gondola which was great. It was also only a short walk to the vibrant downtown but far enough away to be very quiet. The unit was very inexpensive but this came at the cost of a very hard mattress and tired linens. The pillows were not acceptable but were immediately replaced when we brought this to their attention. Otherwise, everything else was basic but functional. There was a nice balcony to sit on and watch the activity below. Based on the Google directions we thought that we needed to walk with our luggage to the unit. This had us dragging our luggage up and down a hilly road. We found out later that the E-taxis could drive to our unit and did so for a very reasonable cost. It was only 17 francs flat rate back to the train station so we took advantage of that. The average overall rating is based on the quality of the accommodations. Nonetheless, the value was good for the cost paid.
