150 km north-west of Tornio, on Swedish side, River Kalixjoki 150 m, Jockfall waterfall 200 m, public shore, public swimming shore 300 m.
Wooden house 1938, renovated 2008, rooms on 3 storeys, kitchen, dining room/living room, TV room, “hunters’ bar”, 4 bedrooms each with 2 beds (one room with own WC and shower), 2 bedrooms each with 2 beds plus top bunk, 1 bedroom 1 bed, sauna, washroom, room with fireplace, glazed terrace, large open balcony. House has total of 6 showers, WC facilities also upstairs, equipment includes spin drier. More extra beds by arrangement.

We had a lovely time in Jockfall ad the kids in our group had a great time playing on the snow.Unfortunately we had some issues relating to maintenance, upkeep and cleaning of the house.For instance, there was no functioning light in the sauna or shower room. When we contacted the host he gave us the number to a person who no longer worked with the house. To use the sauna we had to use torchlights. The cleanliness was also substandard. There was a plate of food in the microwave left over from previous guests. I could go on about items and lights that didn’t work - some windows weren’t functioning properly with window handles coming off in our hands when we tried to open or close them. The driveway to the house wasn’t cleared of snow when we arrived so one of the cars got stuck in snow - it’s lucky that we were able bodied and could push the car free.All that said, it is a lovely place but it needs repairs and someone who cleans it properly between guests.
