About this house rental
Welcome to the Ilmenau district of Frauenwald, a state-recognized resort on the Rennsteig! Our newly built "Victoria" holiday home awaits you from January 2019 with the highest level of comfort and appealing equipment to make your stay in the Thuringian Forest an unforgettable experience. Located near the Rennsteig and at an altitude of almost 800 meters, you live in the heart of the Thuringian Forest, surrounded by fairytale nature. Frauenwald recently celebrated its 800th anniversary and has been part of Ilmenau since January 2019.
Our house offers 150 square meters of space for up to 8 people in 4 bedrooms (up to 10 people with additional use of the open living / sleeping areas) and is equipped with 2 bathrooms. On the ground floor there is a large living / dining area with a fireplace, 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom with shower / toilet. On the upper floor you will find the large living area with fireplace, 2 further bedrooms and a bathroom with bath / shower / toilet.
Use our house as a starting point for hikes or explore the quickly accessible cities such as Erfurt, Coburg or Suhl. In winter there are groomed trails right near the house.
Enjoy the Thuringian cuisine and the extensive tourist offer the region has to offer! These include:
- hiking trails
- groomed trails
- leisure pools
- Ice skating hall
- outdoor pools
- regional festivals and events
- Bunker museum
- Rennsteigbahn with regular steam locomotive rides
After a busy day full of new impressions, relax in the evening by the fireplace.
Our house is equipped with the latest technology, induction hob and controlled ventilation are just a few examples.
Bed linen and towels are always included in the rental price.
A visitor's tax is payable on site and is levied by the municipality of Frauenwald at the following amount:
- Business travelers free
- Children up to 5 years free
- 6 to 16 years € 0.80
- from 17 years 1.80
- Disabled 50 -79% = 50% of the tourist tax, means
6 to 16 years = 0.40 €
from 17 years = 0.90 €
- Disabled people over 80% free
- accompanying person (if necessary) free
When paying the tourist tax, you will receive the guest card (Rennsteig ticket) with free travel on local public transport.
When presenting this guest card, you can also get the Suhl and surrounding area guest card at the tourist information office with discounted entry to leisure facilities.

Wir (zwei befreundete Ehepaare) hatten eine sehr erholsame Woche. Von der Kommunikation mit dem freundlichen Vermieter über die ruhige Lage am Ortsrand bis zur Ausstattung des Hauses, die keine Wünsche offen ließ, war alles dazu angetan, uns einen schönen Winterurlaub zu ermöglichen.
Das kleine Frauenwald hat mit z.B. dem Haus Waldfrieden und dem Gasthaus Drei Kronen Restaurants mit ausgesprochen leckerer Küche zu bieten; auch die Fleischerei Lobig ist einen Besuch wert.
In Frauenwald selber, Schmiedefeld und Oberhof fanden wir auch Ende Februar noch gute bis hervorragende Möglichkeiten zum Skilanglaufen vor.
Das war bestimmt nicht unser letzter Besuch in Frauenwald!

Das Haus ist super eingerichtet und sehr schön . Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Die Umgebung lädt zum Wandern ein und das haben wir auch ausgenutzt. Wir können nur sagen immer wieder

Wir waren alle sehr begeistert von dem Haus. Es ist sehr sauber, alles neuwertig und liebevoll eingerichtet. Es wurde an jede Kleinigkeit beim einrichten gedacht. Das Haus hat eine super Lage. Der Vermieter war direkt jederzeit erreichbar und hilfsbereit. Der Ort selbst ist auch für viele Erkundungen geeignet. Man kann die größeren Orte schnell erreichen. Beim nächsten Aufenthalt im Thüringer Wald werden wir auf jeden Fall gern wieder dieses Haus buchen.
