About this house rental
Our 2-storied family house is located in the picturesque and lively historic centre of Rethymno with its Venetian and Turkish architectural styles, while the sea is literally just around the corner.
From the ground floor, stairs lead up to the first level where the bright living area with sofa, Smart-TV, radio/CD-player, air-conditioning and Internet access are. The large space invites you to linger, and from the balcony you can watch the going-on of the original and lively neighbourhood. Next to the dining area you will find the open kitchen, which is well equipped with fridge, cooking facility including oven, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, toaster and juicer. On the same floor you will also find a WC with washing machine.
The 2 air-conditioned bedrooms as well as the fully equipped bathroom with bathtub and WC are located on the second floor. The bedroom facing the street is equipped with two single beds (90x200cm), which can be used as a double bed on request, air-conditioning, a writing desk and provides a balcony. The other bedroom to the back of the house has a double bed (160x200cm), air-condition, a private veranda and access over an iron staircase to the large roof top with view to the Venetian fortress “Fortezza” and the sea.
The rooftop terrace is a great place to relax in the open and is equipped with an umbrella, 2 sun beds and dining table.
For the few colder days of the year, we provide radiator and fan heaters as well as air-conditioning.
Enjoy authentic Greek neighbourhood living in a well-tended, comfortable environment where we kept dear old elements and furniture and combined them with modern life-style equipment and amenities. This balance between old and new adds a special charm to our house which we equipped with loving attention to the detail.
You reach the long sandy beach, which has been awarded with the Blue Flag, in a short 5-minute walk. The Venetian Harbour, other sights, museums, small shops, supermarkets, cafes, taverns, restaurants and bars can be found in the immediate vicinity which may be audible on the side facing the street.
A flexible self-check-in and -out can be arranged, but we are glad to welcome you in person.
Please note: On arrival, according to Greek law, the Climate Resilience Tax for furnished holiday homes in Greece is payable in cash as follows: April – October: 8 €/night, November – March: 2€/night

This apartment was in a fabulous location just inside the Old Town area on a quiet street.The area is safe and has picturesque streets and water views. The apartment is well equipped with essentials, was very clean, and has multiple balconies and patios including a rooftop deck. The bed was quite comfortable. The two bedrooms were spacious.Parking was tricky as we could only find a spot in the Marina parking lot which is several blocks away. The steps up to the apartment and the upper level were tricky for us. We are in our late 60's and decided that getting two 50 pound suitcases up to the apartment was all that we could do. The living area became our dressing area. Our host was very responsive to our questions. We appreciate Katja opening her home to vacationing visitors.

We absolutely loved our stay in this charming three-level apartment! The location is incredibly walkable—just a short stroll to the beach, shops, and the main square where taxis are always available. It made exploring nearby restaurants and towns so convenient. The host is extremely responsive and so helpful. We had an incredible experience and hope to be back!

We thought the place was charming. The location is perfect. It's on the street right behind the main street so not as crowded and situated in the middle of other shops and apartments. Be prepared for stairs though. We actually kept our suitcases on the main floor vs the bedrooms. Also, the street is not driveable after 11am. Google maps put us on the street at 10:30 pm. Yikes. But it was all good. We got free parking at the Marina the whole time.
