About this cottage rental
The units at Talhouet have been restored to a very high standard. They are very well equipped and furnished. It is an ideal base to explore the coast and countryside in Southern Brittany. There is a large heated pool 12m x 5m which is shared with our other gite, Ash Tree cottage.
Sweet Chestnut cottage is a beautiful cottage full of character with original oak beams. Spacious open plan living area with log burner. Freesat T.V. DVD Player. Well equipped kitchen, dishwasher,hob,oven,toaster, cafetiere,kettle,microwave, fridge freezer, ironing board and iron. Bed 1 - Double bed, en suite with bath, loo and wash hand basin. Bed 2- 2 single beds, en suite with shower, loo and wash hand basin.
Talhouet Kerquere is located in the very pretty commune of Quistinic, which is also the home of POUL FETAN, a restored Breton village where you can experience a taste of Brittany as it was a couple of centuries ago.
We are only 5 mins from the Blavet river where you can hire Kayaks or take a guided boat trip to explore the river. There is a towpath alongside the river which is not accessible to cars but ideal for cycling, fishing or just walking.
There are numerous restaurants and bars within a 15 min drive.
Newly opened in 2014 is a young childrens theme park called KINGOLAND which is about a 20 min drive near Locmine.
There is something for everyone in Brittany, a perfect holiday location for families or couples.

The pool is lovely! Really peaceful location. Nearby Quistinic is a great little town. Fab area for cycling and walking, and we ate some amazing food in the local area. Really enjoyable holiday, would definitely visit again.

We had a lovely and peaceful week at Sweet Chestnut cottage, with everything we needed to cook and look after ourselves. The pool was perfectly heated and well maintained, and lots of space for the kids to run riot. There were guests staying in the other properties but it was easy to stay out of each others’ way. We rented kayaks on the Blavet river and our boys (3 and 7) had a marvellous time at La Balade du Père Nicolas, an “organic theme park” with go karts and slides etc only 15 mins drive away. The house was clean but “well loved” to put it kindly (and priced accordingly!) It worked extremely well for our needs as a young family of limited means.

Good location for travel to the south coast of Brittany - 45/50 minutes to most places. Handy also for cycling especially along the River Blavet and the canal at Pontivy. Great swimming pool ! Help at hand if needed ( we didn't but always good to know ). Comfortable cottage.

A typical, quaint Breton cottage but all the amenities that we required were available. Having the swimming pool was a bonus and the area is perfect for visiting a range of attractions, for example. Auray, Carnac, Josselin, Etel and Poul Fetan village.
Good communication with the owner in England and Rob, the on-site manager, was excellent and very helpful.
We appreciated the Welcome Pack and would recommend staying.
