• Location: Perfectly situated right in the heart of the village. • View & balcony: Our room had a beautiful view and a large private balcony. • Food & service: The food is genuinely restaurant-quality — superb — and the staff were equally superb. • Value: Prices felt appropriate for what you get. • The village itself: Delightful, with plenty of excellent restaurants at great prices — honestly no need to venture out at night.
What could be improved / what to be aware of • Bathroom setup: Shower only — Request a bath if that matters to you. • Bed base hazard: The bed has a dangerously unforgiving jutting out, wooden base. Both I and my wife and others we spoke to injured themselves. My wife on day one and needed daily pharmacy dressings. • Room feel / lighting: The room is darkly lit with a lot of black décor, which makes it feel smaller than necessary and a bit oppressive. • Transport warning: There is no local cab service at all. If you leave the village, it’s essentially bus by day — other alternatives aren’t very practical.

Our Room overlooked the mountains and we had a lovely balcony. The room was roomy and staff were very friendly and helpful, we had a kettle and took our own tea bags and reception gave us a jug of milk. Breakfast was a just up my street with chai and almond etc to add to cereal. Making scrambled eggs on order and we had two evenings meals too. We went to Briançon 15min up the road for our 3rd night meal and worth visiting the town and up the hill to the old town. Amazing. In October you can park I the town so you do not need to pay for parking at the hotel.
The town in October very quiet and if you you want more exploring when there’s is no snow go to Briancon, Vista the park, free parking, old town on the hill and drive out of the village as if going to Italy there is a road DN994G which you can go to end it’s an amazing scenery and drive

Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Especially the quality of the food in the morning was extraordinary. The cake was to die for. The room was really quiet and there was little noise from outside. It was a Sunday night and raining hard so maybe you have more noise if you have a room closer to the street, which we hadn't. It is a matter of taste but we though the hotel looked fantastic with a lot of eye to detail and nice materials used.
A fridge in the room and better climate control as the temperature did not go below 24 degrees despite opening the windows and outside temperatures dropping below 14. The parking is tricky with a reasonably tight entrance and steep way out.

The greeting and reception went well and was very friendly and quick. The room was a good size and was very comfortable. We had half board so had dinner and breakfast - both very good. The wifi was decent and we enjoyed our brief stay. It was nice to actually have coffee provided for the in room coffee machine.
All good.
