Eco Cottage Vedere is an old stone-built Venetian house with 3 bedrooms and a swimming pool. Can accommodate 6 adults.
It is 3km away from the Beach and 9km from Rethymnon so it gives you the opportunity to explore the city as well as the countryside. Local Markets, taverns, and coffee shops are 1km away.
Eco Cottage Vedere is an old stone-built Venetian house that has belonged to our family for over 200 years. It is located in Vederoi, a small Venetian village.
It is a 192 sq. meter house that has two levels. The ground floor has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a living room, a dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen. A wooden staircase leads you to the upper floor that has a bathroom, dressing area, and a bedroom that opens onto a veranda. There you have a view to the village and can enjoy the sunset.
The house’s grounds consist in an extensive compound: the central courtyard has three additional dining areas and a grill; a side courtyard off the kitchen has yet another dining area, hammock, and a vegetable garden; finally, off there is another area with a swimming pool and two lounge areas (one on an upper lawn) with umbrellas so you can sunbathe to your heart’s content. The property is filled with flowers and potted herbs.
We offer our guests olive oil from our trees, house wine, and raki. We live in the same village 20 m. away from your house so we can help you in any way so that you can have an unforgettable holiday!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay at Eco Cottage Vedere! Eleni was an excellent host and just the kindest person. She made us a delicious dinner on our last night. The villa was rustic yet modern. The lighting allowed you to enjoy the outdoor spaces long after the sun went down. The pool was the perfect place to cool off after exploring Crete. Beautiful views from the second floor patio for sunset. Each space was welcoming and comfortable. We spent much of our time outdoors on the multi-leveled terrace. Our rooms were cool with a/c and soft linens. Having 3 bathrooms was so nice and when getting ready. We loved the village surroundings as well! There was another village 4 minutes away with 3 great restaurants, a pharmacy and grocery store. It was also a short ride to Rethymno if you’re looking for tourist attractions, restaurants and shops! If you are looking for a less touristy area with local culture and charm, this is the place to stay!

This villa was amazing. We were fascinated by the history and loved Eleni. She truly represents what Greece is all about and as we Greeks say philoxenia to max. We had a great last night meal. Everything was first class and going forward we look forward to seeing Eleni every year. I am recommending all my friends wishing to visit the island of Crete to enjoy the comforts of this place. Staying at Eleni’s home was like coming to stay with family. What a beautiful warm hearted lady she is. Vederi is a small traditional Village in Crete, just a 5 minute drive from Rethymno. The house is just beautiful and full of history. The various courtyards and places to sit were wonderful to spend time in to relax, not to mention the sparkling blue swimming pool. We loved the vegetable garden with the tastiest tomatoes and the pots of fresh basil and other herbs. Eleni supplied us with fresh locally sourced food and drinks which was much appreciated by our group of 3 couples when we arrived.
Eleni also cooked us a delicious traditional Greek dinner on our last night there. We were all very sad to say goodbye to her and wished we had stayed longer than just 3 days.

The villa is as described with a very tasty and useful interior,
3 nice bathrooms and 3 bedrooms with very comfortable beds.
The kitchen fairly big is well equipped and and provided all we needed for a descent cooking for our family with 3 adolescents.
Eleni provided us with homemade olive oil, feta from a well known shepherd, eggs from her own hens and she invited us to take tomatoes, peppers etc. from her vegetable garden.
As we rented the house in August / September the garden
all the vegetables were ready to be picked and they tasted just great, although our kids might disagree in that point.
There are plenty of relaxing areas around the property, we did not count them but it felt like being 6 or 7 including 2 big dining tables, to find a shadow and quiet possibility of withdrawal from the family and to read a book or just to chill out with a purring cat on the legs.
The pool was more than big enough for our family and it was even possible to swim, besides were 4 loungers in the shadow, vacation at its best.
We had our favorite breakfast and dining table a few steps above the house's inner court and particularly in the evening with the house`s outer lighting on and a good bottle of wine it was a place we could have sit the whole night.
The walls and terraces in the court are decorated with herbs in plant pots like thyme, rosemary, peppermint and sage.
Every pot has its own water supply, so everything is green smelling just wonderful.
Our highlight was the dinner Eleni cooked for as preparing a wonderful and tasty lamb with potatoes and a salad my son still talks about today.
We enjoied having Eleni for dinner with us, her English is perfect, and so we all had a very interesting conversation and a lot of fun.
Vederi is a very !!! small village, population est. 20something in the countryside with a venetian history about a 10 Minutes drive from Rethymno. The location is very central to reach Iraklio, Chania and of course Rethymno as well as the beaches in the south.
It is absolutely quiet as we did not felt the chicken and occasionally dogs being noisy.
There is a certainly bigger town about 1 mile away, Prines, with a butcher, a very good bakery and a few supermarkets if on the road to Rethymno.
In Prines are as well a few restaurants, although we much more enjoied to cook and spend the evenings in 'our house'.
Eleni was just a wonderful host and the villa is so charming, that we always would come back.
