Off the master bedroom is an en-suite bathroom comprising of a large walk in shower, basin and toilet. The en-suite also benefits from stunning estuary views.

Although the room is not overlooked, both the master bedroom and en-suite have shutters, which complete the nautical look.

Beyond the lounge is a kitchen-diner with fold-out pine table and chairs for 6 and a well-equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook fun family meals; an oven, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, kettle, toaster and brand new for 2025, a large American style fridge/freezer with plumbed water and ice dispenser.

Meaning you can arrive, unload at leisure and come and go as you please, always knowing you will be able to park, load and unload easily.

The cottage is ideally situated just a short walk down to the centre of Appledore, famous for it's art galleries and craft shops. The village also has some excellent pubs and restaurants and there is passenger ferry across to Instow in the Summer where you will find a lovely sandy beach which welcomes dogs. Instow also has more great pubs and restaurants.

Beyond the immediate area you have some of the best surfing beaches in the UK at Westward Ho! and Saunton Sands. Westward Ho! also has one of the oldest golf courses in the UK at the Royal North Devon Golf Club.

Changeover day is usually a Friday or Saturday for 7 day stays. Other days may be available upon request.

We welcome pets (up to two dogs) at an additional charge of £25 for the first pet and £20 for the second per stay. We operate a strict no pets on furniture or beds policy and charge a £100 refundable deposit.

The property is heated by gas central heating with individual thermostats on all radiators allowing precise control over individual room temperatures. We love our environment and when refurbishing the property have tried to make the property as energy efficient as possible. In addition to this all of our electricity is supplied from renewable sources. So the windmills you can see far on the horizon, may actually be supplying the energy you are using during your holiday.

We were just using the house as a base to visit a relative in Kenwith Castle Care Home. The house was lovely, views were beautiful, as described. Parking out the front was limited but the rear parking is good for 2 cars. Maurice could not have been more helpful or accommodating to us and our reason for visiting. Thank you we had a lovely time.

The house was gorgeous. The views from the two back bedrooms were amazing. No complaints about anything in the property. Easily walkable to all the local amenities. And not one but two parking spaces. Definitely plan on going back!

For the amount that we paid for this accommodation we were disappointed. On the face of it everything seemed clean and tidy however we do feel the cottage is due a deep clean. The rubber inside washing machine was caked with grim and had to be cleaned before using it as was the soap draw. The dish washer was clean inside however all around door rubber and hinges was not acceptable. There was mould on both glass squeegees in both showers. Things that may help to make this a better stay for others in the future would be: - Better kept back garden so family and dogs can enjoy. - Deep Clean over due - Replace the Squeegees in the showers - Some sort of shelf or carrier for soap and shampoo etc in both showers - Storage space - If you are okay living out of your suitcase then it is fine however we feel it could do with more hangers and then somewhere to hang clothes as well. So to summaries we were disappointed that the actual place did not live up to the pictures and although nothing major wrong did not feel we got value for money on this occasion. With some small changes and very little expense it can be brought up to a higher standard.
