Great location with gorgeous views over the Chiana hills, and nearby restaurants. We enjoyed discovering Cortona and several hill towns in the ares

We were a bit spoilt by our first holiday rental in lucca before we arrived so living up to that was a challenge. However we found the house comfortable (esp the beds). The house is a 30 minute walk into Cortona but the walk is not for the faint hearted esp on the way back. You need to be fit! The location means that evenings are cool so sitting outdoors in the evening is not what you normally expect in summer evenings in Italy but the weather was not as hot as we have experienced before in Italy. There were a few issues for us. The septic tank means the bathroom smells. The rubbish isn’t collected so you have to take it yourself to the receptacles, and the Wi-Fi was very poor.However, I am being picky TBH and if we had gone to this house before the first we stayed in, I would have loved it more. I would recommend this house

We absolutely loved our week in this gorgeous Tuscan Villa. It’s in a great location as we can easily walk into Cortona most days for lunch,dinner or aperitivo. The Villa is beautiful and has everything we need. It’s private, quiet, clean and the scenery around it is stunning. It was super hot in Tuscany and we used the pool everyday (our 10 year old grandson pretty much just stayed there). The description of the Villa is accurate as advertised. We were in Cortona 20 years ago and promised ourselves we will return soon to Villa Rosa - the perfect holiday home away from home. A special thanks to Christine who is an amazing communicator from the time we made the booking to the day we leave. Thank you for recommending Dejan to pick up our family from Rome airport, he helped us numerous times including during the national train strike - totally reliable. Oh and don’t forget to have dinners at Silvia’s restaurant Locanda Agli Amici which is just few minutes up the road. Superb food & views - so good we went back twice.

Our arrival at Villa Rosa was much anticipated and we were not disappointed. The house was even better than described as it is well maintained, comfortable, clean and has all the furnishings to make it homely. The indoor/outdoor living is superb and we managed to swim every day in the unheated pool even though it was the end of May. The views from the house are amazing. We explored the area and the highlights were a wine tour and lunch at the Avignonesi and dinner at Corte di Papi - both an easy drive away - we took a taxi for not much €. Cortona itself is just amazing - so much to see and do and we had great food - both in restaurants & bars and also from the local shops. We will be back to finish our exploring and we would recommend this property for those of you wanting a Tuscan experience to remember.
