Hotel Lafei
1) Boutique hotel is run almost single-handedly by owner of this 3-storey house which also serves as his residence.
His spouse probably does the housekeeping.
This perhaps explains why any room guest will find the lodging homely and secure.
2) Even though the lodging is located slightly off the main street and about 10minutes' walk from the nearest metro station, owner more than makes it up by providing free shuttles to-fro station with an advance phone call and a 5minutes' wait-time.
Hotel owner even provides advice on last metro train timings if one is to get around around Nanjing on public transportation.
3) Better still, he provides free airport transfers and picks guests up from the airport at odd hours of the night.
Real convenience at fingertips.
4) Owner is also earnest in listening to guests' feedback and tries his best to accomodate any special needs, within his means.
We were able to obtain a local mobile SIM easily by him driving us to the phone shop himself.
He also provides possible tour places to visit if asked for.
For all these extras, he does not tout nor promotes, but renders such as part of his service standards.
5) Even the toilet accessories such as shampoo and shower foam were of good quality.
Owner attempts conscientiously to communicate using English through probably the use of Baidu Interpret.
However, if the Chinese language is used as the medium of communication, exceptional service can be found by any guest.
If one does not mind staying off a little further from the city center, this is a Real value-for-money stay for the budget conscious individual.

Transiting from Sydney. Very accommodating owner. Was able to pick us up and drop us off at airport. 15 minutes ride. Wifi at airport, can message him via Wechat. Responsive and good English.

When we booked this property, we were under the impression that it was located directly at/inside the airport, right next to the Pullman, as that was how it appeared on the map.
However, after taking a DiDi, we were dropped off at a completely different location. It turns out the hotel is not at the airport — the map location seems to be the designated pick-up point for shuttle guests only.
That said, the very friendly motel owner and the complimentary early morning drop-off service (as early as 5:30 am) did help salvage the situation and made our stay much more bearable. Do not expect a full services hotel, this is the place for you to have a quick overnight stay.
