B&B Bologna Station

The room was really nice, you have a full kitchen with 24/7 access. There is a clothes line out the back which was very handy on the one day it didn’t rain. The man in charge was very friendly and helpful. They were in constant fast communication through WhatsApp every time I had a question. There are lots of yogurts, cereal, milk, bread, cakes and hot drinks so you can make your own breakfast. The room was lovely although I could never make either the aircon or the heater work. It is a short walk to the station but with all the roadwork it is quite annoying to get to Piazza Maggiore, the only option for me was a 30 minute walk.

The reviews said it is hard to find and it really is a bit of an adventure. You have a motherload of six keys to get through all the doors and the gate so you have to learn which key opens which rickety and fiddly lock. Some people will feel a bit isolated here.

The host arranged an airport transfer for us which was cheaper than the trains and taxis. We received a warm welcome. The location is handy particularly if you're using the trains, and the walk into town is comfortable. The room was very clean and facilities were good.

It was nearby the central train station , also walkable distance to city center. The owner was exceptional , polite and helpful. I like the snack the coffee and everything else was provided for breakfast. I would recommend

If the question was 'what did I LOVE'? Two things in particular - the shower is the one of the best I've ever used and the bed was amazingly comfortable. These two things score 11! Its a convenient location, about 30 minutes easy walk into the centre of town and it couldn't be closer to the train station obviously. As others have said, don't be put off by what the location looks like. The trams are noisy but stop running by 23.00 and you don't notice the trains. The owner and his assistant were on-site at unsociable hours to deal with an issue with the hot water/heating system. This didn't affect me at all but I was impressed that they were responding to a potential problem at that time.

The only problem I would have is the other rooms and communal kitchen is directly outside your room door so the potential for noise from other guests staying there. Its like a shared apartment in that way. Luckily the others staying were quiet. I had to get up super-early for a flight so I hope I didn't disturb them too much.
