This is our second time staying at Haus Barkhausen and we love the bel étage and we love Monschau. The location is perfect, just on the edge of town but still right there. There is a little garden for the dogs to do their business and hiking trails are close by.
It's been a few years since our last stay; we noticed things were a little timeworn.
There are two large bedrooms and the one facing the road is probably considered the nicer one, however, it is close to the street and traffic starts at 5 am going bumpity bump down the cobblestone street. The curtains barely cover the windows and it did not get very dark at night; some shades would help.

We had a fantastic stay. The house is charming, cosy and very well equipped, with plenty of space for a large group. We were sixteen and having the whole house to ourselves made the weekend even more special. The location is perfect, right in the centre of Monschau, just a few minutes’ walk from everything. Ralf, Johannes and Judith were fantastic hosts and extremely responsive.
Everything met or exceeded our expectations.

Badkamer was van alles voorzien, ook netjes en gerieflijk!
Ook de keukenblok en inhoud van de kastjes was prima in orde!
De bedden waren geweldig. Het beddengoed was heel proper!
In elke kamer was er een goed werkende verwarming!
We begrijpen wel dat het een heel oud gebouw is, maar ik zou een tweede keer toch voor een nieuwer appartement kiezen. Helaas was er geen persoonlijk kontakt tijdens ons verblijf of bij ons vertrek, ontvangst via mail vind ik niet klantvriendelijk
