Adalienes Retreat

This spot was perfect. It was clean , quiet, comfortable, and well stocked with kitchen items. It’s less than a 5 minute walk to downtown Portree where you have your choice of restaurants (make reservations!) or the local COOP to grab something fresh to cook at the flat. Parking is right up to the door. Great host, great stay. 10/10.

Well this place wasn't what I expected, it was so much better! Instructions were sent to me by the host about a week in advance which for planning ahead is so much better than the usual day or too before, especially if you're on the road travelling and staying in multiple locations. Anyway it was easy enough to find and there was ample parking. I used the Community Centre car park which fronts on to the property (just due to the size of minibus I was driving) although there was private parking directly outside. The location near to the centre of Portree could hardly have been better. Only 2 minutes walk from the town square but yet tucked quietly out of the way so as to feel quite private. The property is within a detached building located below a shop which with it's reduced opening hours was closed all the time I was within. Getting in was easy enough via a key-box at the front door and wow! You open the door and step into this Tardis! Perhaps with so much travelling and booking multiple accommodation I may have misread what I was looking for but expecting a small en-suite room I was greeted with a self contained reasonably spacious apartment. I could have been quite comfortable spending the week her with my wife however this was just a working trip for myself and unfortunately only a 2 night stay. The apartment throughout was immaculately clean. The bed was very comfortable and I had a good sleep on both nights. The combined living room and kitchen area was well appointed, comfortable and perfect for my needs. Good wi-fi and Netflix as well as plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate pods via the Nespresso machine. A small supply of biscuits, cheese, milk, pancakes, jam, porridge and breakfast cereals completed the welcome pack and it was very welcome indeed. As I said above, this place is ideal for it's location, parking, cleanliness, comfort and competitive price among other accommodation in the area. I wish I could have stayed longer.

We loved our stay in this property. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable - absolutely everything we needed was catered for. Nice little touches like snacks and a breakfast in the fridge. Great communication with the owner. Location is perfect - just a few steps away from the centre of Portree with pubs and shops. Thank you for a lovely stay.
