We rented the house during the first week of the Olympics. It was an extremely easy house for a busy large group to stay in during a (mostly) dry hot period. The pool was a huge bonus. A house with plenty of areas inside and out to find space and with a very agreeable and charming aspect.
It has four double bedrooms, an open to the mezzanine fifth and a sixth double bed on the mezzanine itself. There is only one communal bathroom and an en suite. So for large groups there are negotiations to be had over timings.
Coulommiers, less than ten minutes away, has plenty of supermarkets, some nice places to eat including a basic but good quality sushi restaurant and is worth an evening’s walk about.
Most of the group were very busy in and around Paris at Olympic venues and other sites. Coulommiers is well connected to Gare de L’Est once an hour. And there are other options - the RER A at Bussy Saint Georges 30mins away by car. Given the house’s rural location, vehicles are essential although there is local Uber coverage.
Hugely enjoyed our time here during a supercharged period of activity and socialising. Unquestionably recommend it, taking into account all of the above, for quieter, family breaks.
