Helianthos 2 is one of three independent and beautifully designed properties within the Helianthos Villas complex. Each villa features elegant decor, a charming wrap-around terrace and access to a spacious shared swimming pool.
Tucked away in the tranquil, traditional village of Douliana, this lovingly preserved hamlet invites exploration with its hidden corners and peaceful atmosphere. Located in the heart of the Apokoronas Valley and framed by the majestic White Mountains, it’s one of the most picturesque areas in all of Crete.
The villa comfortably accommodates up to five guests and offers generous balconies with unobstructed views of the valley, along with a sunny terrace perfect for relaxing. The ground floor includes a cozy living and dining area with a fireplace, a sofa bed, a fully equipped open-plan kitchen, and a small WC — all adorned with traditional furnishings that add a touch of rustic charm.
A set of wooden stairs leads to the upper level, where you'll find a serene double bedroom and a mezzanine with two single beds, accessible via removable wooden stairs. A spacious bathroom with a bathtub and a large veranda with stunning views of the White Mountains complete the upper floor.
Guests also enjoy access to a large shared swimming pool with sunbeds , a lush garden, and several fully furnished shaded areas perfect for unwinding outdoors.
The vibrant village of Vamos is just 2 km away, while Douliana itself offers a cozy square with a local café, a mini-market, and a charming taverna — all within a village of only 40 houses. Within a 10 km radius, you can explore some of the area’s most beautiful beaches, including Almirida, Kalives, Kiani Akti, and Ombrogialos.
Convenient local amenities are close at hand: a mini-market just 10 meters away, a bakery 300 meters away, and several traditional taverns and cafés within a 400-meter stroll.

This was our 4th time staying at Helianthos and it has never disappointed. The houses are well-designed, comfortable and have everything you need. The house and premises are spotless. The pool is great and the view of the mountains superb. The place is quite and even though you share with two other families, there is plenty of privacy. This year the temperature was 43 degrees C and nonetheless the house stayed cool, at least downstairs. Air conditioning took care of the upstairs!
The wifi could be a bit stronger.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette charmante propriété. Accueil chaleureux, ménage impeccable. La maison, sa piscine et les environs sont parfaits!

Het contact voor het huren van de woning verliep zeer soepel. De woning voldeed zeker aan de verwachtingen, alles aanwezig en mooi gelegen. Bleef goed koel, en ook beneden en boven goede airco aanwezig. Zwembad gaf heerlijke verkoeling. Het dorpje is schilderachtig, leuk om doorheen te wandelen, ook een mooie wandeling te doen vanuit het dorp naar een kapel in het bos. In het dorp is nog een wat groter zwembad bij een minimarkt, ook mogelijk om gebruik van te maken. 10 minuten rijden naar Kalyves en Almirida, leuke badplaatsen. En ruim een half uur naar Chania, prachtig oud centrum, en het vliegveld. Vamos ook een sfeervol dorp vlakbij. Al met al heerlijk verblijf van een week gehad!

Très jolie maison bien équipée et confortable située dans un beau petit village au calme à flanc de colline et bercé (ou pas) par le bruit des Kri-Kri . Christina, l’hôte est très accueillante et à l’écoute. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié aussi la piscine et la climatisation pour nous rafraîchir aux heures chaudes. De plus c’est idéalement situé pour visiter l’ouest de la Crète. Vous serez à moins de 2 heures des spots les plus éloignés et relativement au centre du reste. Nous conseillons vivement cet endroit.
