very strict in the reception room.eyes all over from staff making sure no drinks get smuggled in.if drinks wasn't overpriced there wouldn't be a need to.wedding was fantastic. rooms lovely.

There was a large insect in my breakfast and we were treat terribly by staff.they said they would phone me on 2 occasions and did not.they offered me £10 back for a breakfast I could not eat and offered vouchers as compensation when I said I wouldn't be returning to the hotel.this ruined our weekend and made worse by the staffs lack of understanding of why I thought there offer of vouchers was a disgrace.we will never be returning

Seemingly a lovely hotel and has the potential to be amazing.
On entering the room everything seemed okay however there was a wedding on both nights we stayed and our room overlooked the outside area of where the wedding parties were being held so really noisy from people chatting and the music etc . The hotel may want to think about which rooms people are placed in if they are not part of the wedding party . Room also dust lamps hadn’t been dusted for a good amount of time , tv stand dusty , grout in the bathroom needed a scrub . Not what you’d expect from a 4 star rated hotel.
Fire alarm went off on the first night we stayed , we exited the building through the nearest fire exit however there wasn’t anyone seemingly taking charge of the situation , once the fire alarm was turned off we had to re enter the building to find someone to ask if it was okay to come back in .
Breakfast the first morning was an absolute shambles , not much of the hot food left at 9.15am and no one seemingly keeping an eye on things running out until it was too late , it took about 15 minutes for them to refill the hot items however the beans were still cold . A lot of the tables on both days were covered in dirty breakfast dishes .
It wouldn’t be somewhere I’d recommend or return to for an other visit which is a shame for the amount we payed to stay .
