Vertigo Hostel Vieux Port

This hostel is designed in such a way they don't want you to stay in the room. First the room is small. The common pathway fits up to one person. And when someone decides to put their large luggage inside the room instead of outside, it makes the room even smaller. Second the bed has a tiny opening where you have to crawl into. Your dog may find this a fun activity to do, but when you are already tired, expect to hit your head multiple times before getting onto the bed. The room has showers but it is again very small. Because the whole room is small and with people putting their stuff all around, it makes cleaning challenging, as a result its not hard to find dirt around the room including on the bed. The common area is in the basement and has no heat, so very cold during the winter months. Overall I would rather pay more for a comfortable stay, then struggling to crawl into and out of the bed space everyday.

It was fine no complaints

My first outside country hostel experience had been super; thanks to vertigo. Really nice hostel with a good location. Very much neat and clean. I could keep my luggage for almost full day even before check and after check out. The staffs are really supportive. I highly recommend this hostel for the solo travelers!

I wasn’t able to sleep well because there’s no assigned bed. It’s first come first served and I was sleeping and another guest came claiming my bed. I change my bed the following day because he sounds upset and had been moving up my bed. The same happened the next day. Another new guest came claiming the bed I was sleeping and had been banging the door. He apologize the ff day after I told him I had been sleeping the same bed previously. The staff don’t smile. They look upset once ask for something. I didn’t sleep good my entire 3 night stay. Can’t recommend.
