The staff here go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The decor little dated but it doesn't matter, so much memorabilia of mining all in all enjoyed my stay and will coming back.

Arrived early Monday hoping to leave our bags to go exploring & met the lovely Kayleigh who said our room was ready & we could check in. After getting back in the evening we decided to eat in the restaurant which was another wise choice as the food cooked by Kelly was superb & the service from Maisie was brilliant,we ate Tuesday night as well because it was so good!! We then also had great service in the mornings at breakfast from Deborah & delicious food cooked by Dave kept us going for the day. Our room was lovely,clean & comfortable with a large sized bathroom & everything you’d need for your stay (toiletries beverages & mini fridge which was perfect as the weather was so good) will definitely stay here again as our base when exploring Cornwall.

The Hotel is crammed with oil paintings of all styles and subjects plus sculptures, bronze busts and historical artifacts. There are locals attending the bar every day some a bit loud and eccentric. several evenings of music. Staff attentive and cheerful. Food good with individual breakfast orders taken the night before. Parking restricted but paid public opposite. We had a free room upgraded but the bathroom had hairs in corners (I 'm bald not me)
