The Waterside Hotel and Leisure Club

Staying for a long weekend. Great welcome from arrival and right through the stay. Facilities in gym and spa are superb. Very good breakfast . Room is a bit smaller than we'd like but comfortable bed and got easy access we requested.

Nice hotel, comfy beds and friendly staff. Food was very good and the spa was great after a long drive.

Really enjoyed our break The hotel is in a lovely spot with really nice views to the river from some rooms. We live local and have stayed before but it was some time ago ...the only thing I would be very mindful of when booking a small double is that it is really small ..you couldn't swing a cat in a small double .. I booked it as I thought it just referred to the room size but the bed was also tiny ...almost like a single . There was no way two people could have a comfortable night sleep in that size bed I had to pay an extra £10 for n upgraded room as they said they didn't have normal size double rooms which is a little unusual ... So it was either the tiny double or a king size room which is what we got . The room we moved to was really nice and overlooked the river and not the car park like the original room. The room was cozy warm and had everything we needed ...nice decor ,a nice big oval bath ..we were happy. The room was clean as well as the rest of the areas within the hotel. We had an evening meal ..good value great service ..carnt fault it. I had fish and chips cooked to perfection ..gorgeous chips and everything seemed fresh .. the lady serving was really lovely ..hubby had a burger and fries ...the burger was made fresh not prepacked .. the fries were average frozen fries . The fairies ...gym ...spa and swimming were really nice everything you need ..relaxing no disappointments . Breakfast was ok there was only us two there which was a bit strange as we went at 8.45 am so not to early or late ...it was buffet style ..nice hash browns ...also you can order eggs how you want them I had a really nice cheese omelette and also ordered porridge ...the porridge was ok I would have preferred a little more cooked and softer but it was good and can have fresh berries added which was nice ....all in all we had a good breakfast ...nice people serving ..help yourself to coffee at a machine ...we really enjoyed our stay .I would recommend staying here but just don't get a small double room unless your a single person
