We recently stayed at a charming hotel on the Isle of Wight — quirky in style, beautifully decorated both outside and in the reception area. The staff were exceptionally helpful throughout our stay, and the breakfast was genuinely lovely.
That said, there are areas that could be improved. We booked a standard room, but found the space surprisingly tight — both the bedroom and the toilet felt smaller than expected. In Room 12, the sink was oddly placed in the bedroom rather than the bathroom, which was inconvenient. Neither Room 12 nor Room 31 had much room to move around, and there was no chair provided, leaving the bed as the only seating option.
While the staff were consistently friendly and accommodating from check-in on the 11th to check-out on the 14th, one moment did leave a sour note. On our first evening, we returned from town and sat outside with a donut. A lady smiled at us — which felt welcoming — but shortly after, a gentleman approached and questioned what was in our box. Once he saw it was a donut, he said it was fine, but the manner of the interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational and left us feeling a bit unwelcome. It’s not something we’ve experienced before in all our years of travel.
Overall, the location, staff, and food were lovely — but that brief encounter, along with the room layout, made the stay less memorable than it could have been.

Had a great few day at the Q, lovely building tastefully decorated ,great hosts ,loved the bar and outside seating area ,located perfect for the beach and the old village , and there's a pool to cool off or a hot tub to relax ,highly recommended

Booked early and at a fantastic rate. For the price no grumbles. Lovely reception areas, bedroom bathroom a little tired. Aside from that very good breakfast and ideally located.

What a find.
Accepting pets for a fee and such a lovely place with pool, jacuzzi, infra red sauna.
Accepting cats is great, I saw a few dogs too.
Lots of outside space too, loungers and all in the sun!.
Such a short walk to either the high street or the lift (£1 return) to the Shanklin beach.
Laura was particularly smitten with Minx and do helpful.
