The Mews Hotel

Booked the solo room and I was very impressed with it for the price , it’s a must to try the cocktails as they are really worth the price and are lush , definitely will book again

We arrived and was allocated a room, a little strange i thought at the time. We had a meal in the bar but was a little bit rushed as it was 2.20pm andcapparently were only serving food until 2.30pm. The food was very mediocre but we ate it, the staff however were very distant and just placed the meals down without enquiring if we needed anything else, the bar was very quiet so no reason to rush off. We went to our auction and returned a little after midnight, got into bed with no problem and fell asleep quite quickly. At around 2am we were woken with the sound of someone trying to get into our room, the person was quite Pesistant and at one moment I thought they were going to break down the door !! My husband shouted "you have the wrong room" the male replied no I haven't and continued trying to enter! My husband shouted back and said yes you have the wrong room, he left but I was quite unnerved by this and took ages to go back to sleep, I anticipated the man to come back and try again !!. The bed was very comfy and the room was very pleasant, this incident was an isolated incident and had no reflection on the hotel itself. However when we went for breakfast the ladies taking our order and bringing drinks wasn't expecting anyone from room 3, they had no idea we were even there ! Now that is a worry, if there had been (heaven forbid) a fire in the night, they had no idea we were even there !! Apart from this the hotel is quite nice and reasonably central. And possibly would stay again.
