Our experience at the Charlestown Hotel was well below expectations. The service was unresponsive and unhelpful — “no” seemed to be the only word the staff knew. Most of the time, there was no one at the front desk, and with no phone in the room, even basic communication was a challenge. Repeatedly ringing the bell at reception often went unanswered.
The facilities were equally lacking: no shampoo, conditioner, or shower gel (only generic handwash), no iron or ironing board, and no air conditioning. The room was uncomfortably hot, and when we asked for a fan, the answer was — unsurprisingly — no. The reception area is tiny, and with no proper access path, you’ll end up dragging your luggage over pebbles and through their restaurant.
Overall, an overhyped hotel that fails to deliver on even basic comfort or hospitality. Not recommended, especially if you’re on vacation.
