    The Black Swan Hotel is well situated with regards to the main sights of Bruges. The hotel has a good looking reception area and is a little quirky, in a good way. The bedrooms are spacious and maintained up to a reasonable standard. One criticism is with regards to the bedrooms... there is no air conditioning, meaning that you need to open the windows to provide some air... the issue being that if you open the windows, mosquitos enter the room and have a feast on you. The hotel has provided fans in the room but advice about the mosquito issue would have been nice to know to understand that the fans were the preferred method to cool the room... even then, there were not enough power sockets to power the fans and charge phones etc. as well. Also, a slight strange thing, was the inclusion of a kettle and tea making facilities on a table which was nowhere near a plug socket. Breakfast was pretty good, a little unusual in modern days to provide a time that you wish to attend breakfast during check in, especially when there isn't any hot breakfast provided but this is due to a small breakfast room with limited capabilities to get to the breakfast items with more than a couple of rooms attending at the same time. This would be a great place to stay with some minor improvements but still a solid place to stay.
