I needed to come to Bury St Edmunds to do a course and I needed accomodation for two nights.
I found a jewel of a place at The Abbey Hotel. The rooms themselves were immaculate and extremely comfortable and what's more steeped in history. There was a delightful sitting room downstairs on the ground floor and in the basement there was a well equipped kitchen area with a spacious dining table so you could even cook your own food in the evening. There was also a utility room with a washing machine.
The breakfast dining room was on the ground floor and the breakfasts themselves were exceptional with plenty of choice.
The proprietors and staff could not have been more helpful. This is a truly wonderful place to stay.

This is an excellent hotel. Rooms spotlessly clean . Everything provided in rooms that you would expected from much dearer hotels . Breakfast was also excellent and nothing was too much for the staff to do to make your stay perfect
