The location is an easy 5 minute walk from the railway station, something I always look for when booking hotels as I don't drive.
The room was appropriate for a single bed and had an en-suite bathroom adjacent. It was pleasant and clean but lacks the modern hotel accoutrements found in expensive chain hotels like air conditioning. A fan was provided which was appreciated on the hottest day of the year so far. The bed was comfortable and the shower worked fine. There is Sky TV and a spare double socket with USB sockets by the bed.
I didn't see a lift so assume the rooms are not accessible., a symptom of a building being built in the 15th century. The floorboards can be creaky but it's to be expected from a building of this age.
Free WiFi was available in the room and fast.
I had breakfast in the morning which was the usual buffet and cooked offerings. No problems with it at all.
Overall, it was a pleasant overnight stay, certainly a worthy consideration over the pricey chain hotels in Leeds.
