    I booked a room with a view, I was assigned one on the 4th floor. One of the windows didn’t close properly, I could hear the traffic from the busy road outside. I asked reception if they could change my room. The 2 other rooms I saw on the 4th floor had the same problem. The window handles have seen better days… In the end she offered me a free upgrade to a room with balcony on the 3rd floor. The room I was shown was fine. The windows were sliding glass doors and the seal was slightly better. There’s a different WiFi connection for each room. I asked the lady to help me get online as the log in page was in Chinese. She logged me in but it didn’t work. She connected me to the WiFi from the room upstairs and that just about did the job the first night. No luck the second night. Breakfast was a mix of Chinese food as well as cereals and toast. I would’ve appreciated labels on the food along with allergens as I’m vegan and communication with staff was difficult. Location is good for the Xixi wetland which was my reason for booking this hotel. The main entrance is a 15 minute walk away. I didn’t not take the metro whilst here as the route to the train station is fairly straightforward with taxi. The two commercial roads near the hotel are good for some food. Room amenities were good. Tea and kettle was provided. Shower pressure was excellent. No body lotion provided. Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Overall I would recommend but I would also try a different hotel if I came back to Hangzhou.
