Got to town early and sent an email asking if we could check in early. 4 hours later still no response.
Checked in at 3.
The door was difficult to open, like stuck closed.
Beds were nicely made, however they knew we were coming and had not plugged in the fridge so I did. My food froze. Great for the ice packs but the ham & cheese, not so much.
Went to take a shower, couldn’t close the door with the shower mat down, had to shut the door first then lay down the mat. Bathroom door much the same as front EXCEPT for the big hole in the back of the door that looked like someone either punched or high kicked (hee-ya!).
The towels were clean, the hot water hit & the toilet worked.
It looked as though calking had been put around the sink area and wiped but left to dry instead of wiping it off.
We misplaced the key (we were only given one) the night before and were stuck in the room (for our only full day) until 3:00pm as no one was in the office when I went to talk to some one (twice), no one answered the phone (no voicemail either) and again, no response to email.
I walked around trying to find a custodian to no avail. Finally at 3:00pm, my grandson went to the office and was promptly helped (what the?). He got a key but we missed our day at the beach with the family stuck in our room.
If there had been an emergency, barring calling 911, we would have been SOL.
Personally, I think they should have refunded part of the days charge AND I didn’t even bother trying to ask, I just wanted to get away from the nightmare.
Cheap ain’t always cheap. Missed my family time which was worth so much more than the room.
