We recently stayed for two nights and the room was good and warm and all the staff were very helpful and breakfast was excellent and would recommend this hotel, great value for money.

When we arrived there was a lady just coming out of property and thankfully she let us in. Just told us the basics and no small talk! This was the only member of staff we saw until breakfast the next morning. It says there is a car park but didn’t see one so just had to park on street. Our room was ok but the hotel is just not a 4 star hotel, as the next night we stayed at another 4 star hotel and there was no comparison. I wonder how they get this rating!! I have since looked at their prices and I would definitely not pay these rates. As you arrived the reception area and carpets were very tired looking. The room was a good size but the shower did not have a decent flow. One of the bedside lamps did not work. The hairdryer was tiny and gave off a burning smell, and don’t even mention the remote! Does no one ever clean these!!! Our breakfast was plentiful and cooked well but the orange juice was terrible. I was looking forward to ‘Martin’s homemade marmalade’ which was advertised on the menu but when I asked the waitress she didn’t seem to know what I was talking about and said it’s just what is on table. It was the cheap plastic pots!! We didn’t get offered a choice of brown or white bread and after getting our tea it took ages to actually get it. I read the reviews before booking and expected much more. Quite a disappointment.
