Comfortable, "cosy double" room was a very good size, well heated, comfortable bed, 2 chairs, wardrobe with hanging space; plenty of table/desk space, abundant supplies of tea, coffee, drinking chocolate etc.
Very clean, as was the bathroom; plenty of hot water via the over-bath shower. Nice toiletries but the handwash was virtually empty; used the shampoo instead.
Tasty buffet breakfast with plenty of choice, even on a quiet December morning, and pleasant staff in restaurant and throughout hotel.
Very conveniently placed for the main road and shops, and an easy walk to the theatre. Quiet. Enough parking spaces.
Didn't use the pool on this occasion as I didn't have much time, but have enjoyed it on previous visits.
Various comfortable and pleasant public spaces where you can sit and read, meet people, have a drink, whatever.
I've been before, and I shall be back!

The hotel had no facilities for dinning and the pool was out of order we were not contacted beforehand and our 5 year old was very disappointed also very dated definitely need of an upgrade
