Rutland Hall Hotel & Spa

I booked just 1 night as in Oakham for a friends celebration Attracted to Rutland hotel as the website said views of Rutland Water as a key feature. No indication on the website as to which rooms had what view . So ended up with a double bed ( all we needed to sleep overnight) looking at a tall white wall for a ‘view’ Would have paid more for a room with a view. Heating was a noisy blow heater in the bathroom. Rooms not sound proof . Noise woman in neighbouring room kept me up till past midnight and again woke me up at 05;30 … man also saying to her loudly ‘ Go Away Akka’ ( sounded like Akka ) . Enjoyed a morning walk by Rutland Water as location is superb.

Room was very small and bed was small and uncomfortable not a very homely feeling to the place wouldn't go again

I stayed with a party of eighteen people and from the initial grooup booking problems arose. In fairness the accomodation was fine, the room, although small, was clean and fresh, and the food, although very nice, was on the expensive side. Breakfast arrangements were a tad chaotic. Evening meal service was not good. Hardly their fault, but I couldn't use the swimming pool as a smashed door had left glass in the pool and it was therefore closed for safety reasons. During checkout a number of guests were checking their bills due to errors. To sum up, a nice location but lacking in a number of other important areas. I won't be going back.
