I hadn't read the details fully when booking B&B Via Diaz. I hadn't initially realised that there would be no staff, which I found disconcerting before my arrival. I found this out when I was sent a link to an online check-in portal (Vickey) by the owner. This is necessary in order for you to get access to your room. The problem is that Agoda blocks the link. Agoda discourages contact with hotels outside of its own in-app messaging, but without responding to that link I wouldn't have been able to get access to the room.
Despite my worries, the Vickey access link that was sent to me, which opens the gate and room door via your smartphone, worked perfectly. That is, once I'd found the place. It took a while because it's in a nice residential street and the signage is fairly discreet. Also, I had to use my phone's torch to see along the garden pathway between gate and (outside) room door. I think there was a bulb out.
Once inside, I was extremely happy with the room. It was comfortable, stylish, modern and very clean. While it might not be in the centre of Bergamo's città bassa, it's a relatively short and pleasant walk away. I would certainly recommend it, but just be aware of the access procedure.

This was one of the best places we stayed on our trip, with a spacious, clean room and soft beds. I wish it had a minifridge, but that's my only complaint. Highly recommend!
