    Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Did not use the facilities. I was only there for one night. The location is great.

    I was planning to stay at a more expensive resort nearby. Happy I took the chance with Rio Sands Vacation Rentals. My single king bedroom was on the second floor, spacious, very clean and in good shape. Bathroom and lighting fixtures were up to date. WiFi connectivity was smooth for streaming a video. No elevator to haul suitcases upstairs. Walls are thin enough to hear the neighbors next door. Room overlooks the pool so could hear guests, mainly kids, having fun until 9pm. Definitely a family friendly vibe. Reception staff were friendly and readily provided information. Best of all, it’s only a three minute walk to Rio Del Mar Beach. I even got lucky to spot a whale offshore one afternoon during my stay. The local shopping area is about a 10-minute drive. Will definitely return when I’m in the Aptos area again.

    The place was clean and beds comfortable. Bathroom was tiny. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was awful. Hard to recommend unless you get a great price.

    I left a 5-star review after my first stay in a upper floor room. However, when I returned later that same week and stayed in a ground-level room, I understand the negative reviews. The room, #115, was stuffy with old weed odor, even though I’d requested a non-smoking room. After midnight, a group of high school/college women in the next room were loudly chatting and screaming, making it impossible to sleep. The emergency number was quick to respond when I called about the disturbance. However, the noise continued until nearly 1 AM. The weekends are definitely noisy!
