Ramada by Wyndham Sunnyvale Silicon Valley

My family stayed at the Ramada in Sunnyvale for two nights in order to visit California’s Great America. The park is only about a mile away. Price compared to others in the area was good, reviews good, and the addition of a free breakfast are what had me decide to stay here. I was quite happy with our stay. The hotel/resort is large and although old (my guess it was originally built in the 1960’s) is well maintained and clean. It definitely has a vintage vibe to it. The grounds in the courtyard are beautiful and well established. I requested a quiet room and our room was at the back of the motel and on the ground floor. No screaming kids, pounding footsteps, or slamming doors bothered us at unreasonable hours. Due to being at the back of the motel we did have a little bit of a walk to the lobby where the breakfast was but it was enjoyable to walk through the courtyard. Breakfast offerings both mornings were the same-scrambled eggs, country potatoes, oatmeal, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, bagel, and a silver dollar pancake maker. Beverages included apple and orange juice, as well as various teas, coffee, and milk. Our room was spacious with two queen beds and there was a small fridge in the room as well as a coffee maker. Beds were comfortable. The staff I spoke to was friendly and very helpful. Of note the young man that ran the front desk. He was very informative and gave us good suggestions on nearby food. helpful. A couple of men were also polite that were doing some maintenance inside the lobby and helped us find the breakfast area. Besides California’s Great America there is also Levi Stadium nearby (right next door to the amusement park). Perhaps a block from the motel there is a shopping center with restaurants, fast food, movie theater, and I believe a Walmart. In the motel there is a wonderful Chinese restaurant. Prices were a little high but the portions were big. If you do not want leftovers I recommend splitting a dish. There is a 7-11 about a block in the opposite direction. I highly recommend this vintage resort and would love to stay there again.

I honestly could rave about this place all day! From the moment I arrived, the staff was super kind and made me feel so welcome. Even though I booked through Agoda, being a rewards member still got me a room upgrade and a late checkout, which was such a huge plus. The room itself was squeaky clean, incredibly quiet, and very spacious. It even had a pull-out couch and a nice little seating area along with the two queen beds. Breakfast was a total ten out of ten, featuring everything from biscuits and gravy and fresh cinnamon rolls to pancakes and hot oatmeal. Having so many juice options and fresh coffee right by the I-5 made the morning so easy. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Comfortable stay.

The free continental breakfast was fine. But the facilities left much to be desired. Rooms were pretty old and the area is just really loud. As a woman traveling by myself I didn’t feel very safe at night. I wasn’t able to sleep well. Bathroom is small and dingy and there’s noticeable water damage. The staff was friendly though and the dim sum restaurant next door is amazing. I didn’t check out any of the amenities such as the fitness center or the pool. Free parking is convenient but I felt anxious at night going from parking lot to my room at night
