Palazzo Matà Boutique Hotel has a lot of potential. The front desk staff and our waiter were absolutely wonderful—professional, warm, and attentive. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by an extremely unpleasant encounter with the hotel manager. While trying to access the dining room (with no clear signage or alternative route), we were aggressively shouted at by him for walking through what appeared to be the only available path via the kitchen. His behavior was shockingly rude and completely uncalled for, especially in a hospitality setting.
It’s a shame, because the rest of the staff were excellent and clearly dedicated to creating a great experience. But it only takes one individual to ruin what should have been a lovely stay. Management should seriously reconsider whether this kind of attitude has any place in an otherwise well-run establishment.
