A fabulous hotel with real charm and history. A really well appointed hotel with friendly staff and excellent facilities. A great place to stay if you fancy some old fashioned luxury in a lovely setting!

The hotel is lovely and I’m sure in summer or good weather it’s even more so.
The staff were all extremely polite and attentive.
The rooms from our experience do not look like the pictures shown. However, I’m presuming there is a newer refurbished side and then the side we were on which is the main older building.
My room was old, there was a large damp/crack in the ceiling, it was very cold but they did provide an extra plug in heater. The bed was comfortable though. The bathroom was very warm though. The in room amenities were good. Plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate options. Large bottle of water. Dressing gown and slippers. No full length mirror.
Most of the group had issues with getting the TV to work but it eventually got sorted out.
Breakfast was fantastic! Made to order cooked food and a great selection at the continental buffet. The wait staff were great and very attentive to whatever you needed.
Only stayed overnight, so didn’t get to use the spa facilities. However, overall a nice stay

The hotel is absolutely beautiful from the outside! Inside it is certainly not new and could use a bit of a refurb. Spa is nice and not too busy.
