This was our second visit to Mollie’s Motel in Oxford, having first stayed in September 2025. We were so impressed the first time that we were really looking forward to returning—the location is excellent, the rooms are comfortable, and the diner has a great atmosphere.
Unfortunately, our second experience didn’t quite live up to our initial visit. In the diner, the glasses we were given were visibly dirty, and the water bottle contained bits of food floating in the water, showing this had not been cleaned correctly. which was disappointing. Our order was also incorrect—we received a beer instead of a peach tea.
That said, we raised these issues with a member of staff, and the waitress who assisted us was very apologetic and resolved everything promptly, which we appreciated.
The food itself was enjoyable, but the issues with cleanliness did make us feel slightly uneasy during the meal.
Overall, despite this experience, it’s still a lovely place to stay, and we hope this was just a one-off issue. However, we would emphasise that improvements in cleanliness and food hygiene standards in the diner are essential, otherwise it would put us off returning in the future.

Great staff and room as usual but there was noise from either the air on or heating that continually droned on. Ear plugs dealt with it whilst I slept but not ideal.

Mollies is a great place to stop and stay when doing things in the area. The Dyson hair dryer and ghd’s are the best!! Lounge area comfy and nice to sit and relax!
