Le Dome Hotel

Convenient transport options and room was spacious.

The location is awesome

First visit to Brussels and found the staff extremely helpful with advice and information.The hotel looks a little tired on the outside but was more than happy with my room and the facilities.Tbe breakfast was substantial with lots of choice.Located near the Gare du Nord,it was easy to find and fairly close to amenities.Would highly recommend it for a stay in the capital.

Agoda will not let me upload photos but the hotel I stayed at was not the one of LeDome in their photo but a run down hurriedly slightly updated 1980th hotel a block down from Le Dome, which they called Le Dome 2 and second was I think a fair thing to call it. My room was not I think the executive single I had paid for. The TV was not working so one could watch it and there were too many excuses two of the 3 nights I stayed there. It was obvious that this TV had been unwatchable for some time as the same excuse ( you are leaving tomorrow aren’t you, so its too late to change it and we are fully booked so cannot change your room, or we can get someone to come at 10.30 this evening but we assume you will be asleep) was dished out every night when I came home and the promised replacement had not happened. It was first changed on the third evening. One of the window panes were broken, the table had had serious water damage, the towels were thin, and a bit rough as was the toilet paper and on the last day one of the towels had a visible stain l, which could not have been missed by the cleaning lady as she had placed it at the front. There were dirt between the tiles in the bathroom and radiator and thermostat was yellow with age. The Mimi fridge was missing and there were no key to the safe. This room also had a 1980 inbuilt radio clock, which did not work and nor did the air condition. Hotel need to leave instructions to light and aircon as it was not that straight forward. On the positive side the staff were all nice but not so good at problem solving and the hotel had no manager I was told when I enquiried and the email I was given was never responded to. The breakfast was a fabulous buffet and they really provided a lot of very nice things for vegetarian and vegans, which I was very appreciative of. It was however very strange to have to walk out into the street and past a cheap burger place to enter the hotel in which I had been let to believe I had booked. One felt a bit like one was treated like a second class person. I was really sad that I was not staying in the art nouveau hotel as the reason I went to Brussels was to see a lot of their famous art nouveau architecture and it was quite an expensive room price which I indulged in for the art nouveau architectural experience, I would never had paid that price for the 1980th hotel.
