We are here for the first time and really pleased with the property, room and excellent service. It’s a small property of about 20 villas of different sizes, with a beautiful contemporary Spanish vibe. From the moment we walked in the staff was very welcoming and helpful. They even offered us a signature drink which I had in their nicely appointed lobby. It was very tasty!
We stayed in Villa number 9, a King deluxe room close to the pool. We were pleasantly surprised at how large it is and how nice the decor is. We love our little outdoor patio with a fire pit and bathtub and the cute swing on the front porch. This morning we went to the included continental breakfast, which was very nice with fresh berries, Greek yogurt, pastries, coffee, water, orange juice, etc. We’re spending the day by the pool. They have nice, chill, upbeat, music, and a very intimate setting to relax. We are excited to check out Sugar high the rooftop bar at some point. They serve drinks and food by the pool as well.
Some additional nice touches are the refillable filtered water bottles in the room with a filtered water, refill station in lobby,two nice robes in the room and a kitchenette with small refrigerator. They also have a restaurant on site called Azucar. There is a BevMo across the street and you are one block from the main drag where all the shops bars and restaurants are. If you want a little nightlife, you can easily go to a couple of nightclub/bars and walk home.
I have to give special mention to Jose the manager.. He is an incredible host who greets everyone with such warmth and hospitality making you feel special and well taken care of. He seems genuinely interested in making you comfortable and happy. He makes sure everything looks just right around the pool and at the restaurant. He clearly takes pride in his work and loves what he does. . He is an absolute gem!
La Serena is a 10 out of 10 for me. It’s classy, beautiful and relaxing. I’m sure we will be back!
