La Lanterna

My husband and I stayed here for two nights as part of a honeymoon/birthday visit to the Nurburgring, which was about 10 minutes away so the location was good for that. However, for everything else, the hotel feels so isolated and remote (the plus side is there are horses on a nearby property which was a fun surprise). There's one restaurant in town with wonderful service and disappointing food, and we couldn't find a single supermarket. Regarding the room, single beds were placed next to each other so we still had to sleep separately because there were two bedframes - very awkward and uncomfortable. The mattresses are quite hard and we were each given one pillow that felt like a sheet of paper - needless to say, our backs and necks hurt a lot, even more after night two. The place runs mostly as self-service and the owners are not the most friendly. Had to ask for soap and shampoo as none were in the room and there was some grumbling about it (after barging in the room to confirm we didn't have any). Parking is easy though, lots of space for that, and the house itself is quite beautiful and clean with coffee and water available. There is no air conditioning so be prepared if you come in the summer that it can get a bit warm inside. The water pressure was perfect and funny enough the best part of our stay. Considering all of the above, we thought the price was high and the value low. However, if you're only coming for one night and your only goal is to visit the Nurburgring, it's not the worst option in town.
