We were informed that the room was not up to normal hotel standards after the booking had been made. We needed to carry our bags up a flight of stairs after a short elevator ride. The room was secure and clean though it was quite basic. The shower was hot but the room was very old. All of this information was given to us after the booking was complete. Though for the price in downtown Florence it was good for one night. The staff were amazing. They were very helpful in helping us store our luggage and making sure we were doing well. Their local knowledge of restaurants was excellent.

We needed a place to stay over as we missed the last train out of Firenze. The location was perfect for our purposes, a few minutes' walk from the station. The receptionist was cheerful and casual, which was welcome after a long day.
However, the room was down long winding corridors and up several flights of stairs, sometimes unlit. It would have been difficult if we had luggage or were not as mobile.
The toilet also smelt quite strongly of mildew, and we had to keep the toilet door closed to avoid the smell from suffusing the whole room.
The price was affordable for our purposes, but we would not stay in the room longer than necessary.
