We stayed at Hotel Maiensee from 15-23 Mar 26. It's our first time in a ski resort in Europe so would be impossible to compare with other European ski resorts but we had a fabulous time.
Location: right next to a ski lift literally. We are talking 5 steps from the hotel's ground. So if you don't want to walk too far from the hotel, this is it.
St. Christoph is a small village that you can walk around it within 10 minutes max. There's not much around the hotel except 3-4 other accommodations, a ski school and a ski shop (rentals and gear). For pharmacy and super market, one would need to drive to St. Anton, a 10 mins drive away.
As such, the room rate is on half board where we have our dinner on the same table for 8 nights. Dinner is mostly 4 course with daily changing menu of good quality and quantity.
There's a spa on site with decent massage.
The staff are mostly friendly which is a bit surprising coming from Thailand, we thought people would be "colder" in Europe but the vibe at Maiensee was of a family-run hotel with friendly and welcoming team where the hotel owner was always present. We even made new friends at the hotel due to a friendly atmosphere where guests often smiled at each other and make acquaintances easily.
I particularly like our room (renovated in the main building) with great view of the bunny slope. It's floor heated and can be a bit too warm with the duvet but we opened the window every night. The air was fresh and dry.
Room facilities are superb. His and her wash basin, separate shower and a bathtub. TV was well positioned and offered a good variety of channels in different languages. Tap water is supposed to be almost as good as mineral water (but you will be charged if you order tap water in the restaurant though).
I thought the ski room where skis/snowboards are kept along with boots was lovely and spacious.
Oh and I must not forget the porters who assisted from the outset with valet parking. They made our lives much easier if you happen to drive there.
Overall it was a very enjoyable stay, well recommended for a quiet and peaceful stay in St. Christoph/St. Anton.
