Hotel L'Ecrin Blanc by Odalys

Very friendly staff. Clean room. Comfy bed and pillows. Only downfall was food in the hotel but just eat elsewhere!

Comfortable hotel with a nice overall feel. The on-site restaurant offers click-and-collect but does not provide room service. The food is decent. The ski-in/ski-out access is very convenient, with lockers located right by the slope entrance/exit. Rooms are comfortable, but we felt cold on the first day as the heating appears to be capped at a medium level and cannot be increased further. The room could also benefit from more storage and seating. There were not enough hangers or storage spaces, so we had to live out of our luggage. Seating was limited as well — we ended up sharing a footstool and using the luggage bench to sit on. Breakfast is good, but €20 per person feels excessive given that the selection is not particularly extensive. Charging extra for spa towels, gowns, and slippers for hotel guests feels unusual for a four-star hotel, as these are typically complimentary. The spa facilities are somewhat limited for a hotel of this rating. The pool is quite cold and there is no hot tub or jacuzzi. The hammam and sauna are small and can become crowded quickly. Communication with the hotel before our stay was difficult. We had to follow up twice via email and Agoda over two months before receiving a response, which still did not fully address our questions. We had asked for help arranging a transfer from town to the hotel — a short 5–10 minute drive — as we had luggage and expected snowy conditions that would make walking uphill difficult. The hotel advised us to call upon arrival, but when we did we were told that no taxis operate on Sundays and that local transport was also unavailable that day. This could and should have been communicated in advance so that we could have arranged transport ourselves. Unfortunately, there was no apology offered, and we ultimately had to drag our luggage uphill for 10–15 minutes in cold, windy, and snowy conditions.
