Hotel Bellevue Pinte

No message or guidance was provided by property for checking in. I took an hour walking around and looking for the check in reception. Finally the kitchen helper from the restaurant told me to climb up the mountain to another hotel Bergwelt to check in. It was 500m up without lift, only stairs. It is impossible to bring the luggage up to the hotel

Firstly the people there were all amazing, they are affiliated with a five star hotel so they really have a standard for this hotel. You can book a pick up from the grindelwald station which i highly recommend as you need to check in via their mother hotel which although is only a 7-8mim walk, it is uphill and with luggage it's a bit of a work out. We got the biggest room with the view of the breathtaking view of the mountains. The room was so cosy, bathroom amenities was amazing, bed was good. When you walk in though it does look a little like a cottage but it has been done up well to modernise it and not lose the history of the building. The location could not have been better. The check in counter is on the other building (main hotel). There is no reception counter for this hotel. Therefore any request have to walk the stairs/slope to the another hotel. But the service is perfect. Quite a hassle to walk to the main hotel.

The rooms at the hotel were exceptionally spacious and very comfortable, providing a relaxing atmosphere with breathtaking views that enhanced our overall experience. The hotel's central location made it incredibly convenient for exploring the surrounding area. However, we faced a couple of issues during our stay. There was no in-room phone to contact reception, which made it inconvenient when we needed assistance. When we asked about this at the front desk, we were told to use our cell phones to call—an impractical solution for international travelers, as IDD charges would be high. This lack of basic communication options in the room was disappointing. Additionally, while the customer service at the reception and the restaurant was generally excellent, our dining experience was marred by house flies in the restaurant. When we brought this up, the staff informed us that it was 'normal'—yet we did not encounter this issue at nearby restaurants. This casual dismissal of the problem affected our enjoyment of the meal. Most importantly, as elderly guests, we found the hotel's layout extremely challenging. From street level, there are several flights of stairs just to reach the reception area, and even more stairs to access the rooms. This proved especially difficult for us during check-in and check-out with four pieces of luggage, as there was no elevator or staff assistance available. The numerous flights of stairs made the hotel feel very elderly-unfriendly and inaccessible for guests with mobility concerns. While the hotel's ambiance, location, and room comfort were wonderful, the lack of basic accessibility features, like an elevator or luggage assistance, was a major drawback. For a hotel of this caliber, we expected more consideration for older guests or those with mobility issues. Improving accessibility is essential and would significantly enhance the experience for a broader range of visitors.
