While I was researching hotels in the area, Hotel Avenida seemed to be the cheapest by a significant margin. I was skeptical at first, but when I checked in, the room was perfectly good, clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful with my plans to visit Tolantongo the next day. I loved the fast Wi-Fi and how quiet the neighborhood was, which is why I decided to stay one more night. It’s less than a 10-minute walk to the city center and the nearest restaurant.

There was no water cooker to prepare milk for the baby but we could use a coffee machine at the reception to heat water. We were lucky to see the “Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos” pass in front of the hotel. The staff recommended places for good food and the center is a short walk away.

Clesn, hot water, spacious, quiet, big parking space. A bit far from center, limited food/shops corner, 2km from the bus terminal

Decent short term accommodation. On a busy street, but surprisingly quiet at night. Clean. If you're travelling by bus, it's close to the bus station (a stop on the side of Av. Insurgentes Ote.)
