    Hotel Montecarlo may be a bit older, but it’s spotless and well-maintained. The AC worked perfectly, the bed was comfy, and the bathroom was a good size. The room was small but just right for a short stay. Loved the classic Italian breakfast!

    The room was tiny, and the air-conditioning just blew outside air into the room. Luckily, it was not terribly hot, and the room cooled off in the evening when the windows were open. DON'T stay here in warmer months! The shower was barely big enough to turn around in, but the water pressure was fine, and there was plenty of hot water. The desk clerk most days was a sluggish, unhelpful young man. He had a very hard time finding my booking, even though I had confirmed by email just a few days before. I told him about a malfunctioning lightbulb on Day One - he did nothing. Every time I asked, he just said, "I'm looking for one." I ended up swapping bulbs between two fixtures so I would have enough light to work at the table. The breakfast selection was good, and the location was convenient for my purposes.
