Highland Dell Lodge

Our 4 night visit was excellent. We enjoyed a delicious dinner here one evening. Breakfast buffet European style was well presented with cold cereals, hard boiled eggs, juice, various breads and muffins, coffee tea, yogurt. Delicious and adequate on a lovely dining room with a view overlooking the river. We would definitely choose to stay here again.

We thought this was a regular hotel. Nope! The German flair flows through the hotel, beginning with our greeting from Ingrid. She's helpful, bold, and turned out to be quite a riot! She's also the bartender and server, along with her husband of 36 years, Heer. Eating Jaeger schnitzel on the deck with the breathtaking views was the highlight of our trip, as the food is just incredible! Don't forget to get a cocktail in a plastic cup to drink on the dock or even float on the river. We have met and hung out with fun couples all weekend. Stay here. It's pretty cool. Auf Wiedersehen!

If you are a water enthusiast, then this is the perfect location for you. The inn has its own dock (steep access though), and you can launch your own watercraft from there. there’s also a nice lawn to sit and just look at the river. If you book one of the higher priced rooms, you can get one facing the river With a balcony. We had a regular queen room that faced the trees on the side of the building. It is very tight, so don’t bring too much luggage. If you’re booking this because it includes breakfast, be prepared for some regular Costco items such as tubes of cream cheese, packaged cookies and granola bars, and some cheese and salami slices. Overall, definitely one of the nicer choices along the river.

Rather shabby. Insufficient hot water. No safe river access—steep ramp with no handrails. Good enough continental breakfast. No hot items.
