Grange Hotel

Hotel looks very smart and modern, the pool and jacuzzi are great, the breakfast is good. We arrived by train and used it a lot during our stay and the location is brilliant for this. The room we had was very warm despite having the heating off and we had to leave the rear door open to get the temperature down, which didn't feel particularly secure. I think some of the staff could do with a bit more training, especially around options for vegans (available in the bar but not the restaurant). Also some managerial type conversations were being held in public areas and I think these would be better held in the back office or somewhere. We enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to come again in future

I usually never bother about hotel facilities but this one left a very bad experience. Parking: parking slots are less than 10 for this huge hotel. Everyone had to park on side of road or outside the hotel. Terrible experience. If you have heavy luggage, you better be prepared to pull it up the cliff. Wifi: worst wifi I’ve experience ever. Looks like a Dial up connection. If you can scroll more than 3 reels without buffering, you are the lucky one ever. I went when it’s not even a rush time. Mobile network is terrible, Wifi doesn’t help you either. Food: breakfast has a buffet but there are some items which need to be ordered. The staff walk away like it’s not their business. I stayed for two days but I have to run behind them to order. For some reason they seemed not pleased to take breakfast kitchen order. Strange. Spa/Sauna: the steam room barely fits two people. If you sit to the right side, the incoming steam will burn you. So basically it is only convenient for one person. Sauna: you have to manually pour water on the heaters to experience the sauna. Staff wouldn’t bother. Jacuzzi: Too much chlorine in jacuzzi. The vapour burnt my eyes whenever it turned on. Room: Room is fine but feels cramped. Travelodge bathrooms are 1000% better than bathrooms here. The room is tidy and has a nice vibe but feels very cramped and tight. Lift/Elevator: The lift / elevator is not for the weak hearted people. It said max 3 people but does the job. Left me feeling like it might snap any minute. Very jerky and creepy.

Lovely hotel, stylish, really friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast. But the bathroom lights were motion-sensor activated - and kept turning off while I was in the shower! There was also a drainy smell in the bathroom, unless we kept the bedroom window wide open. Apart from those small niggles, we had a really lovely stay.

Arrived yesterday afternoon, what a beautifulbuilding. Check in was easy, greeted with a smile. Key card opening to room but no hassle. Room was bright , big with a huge comfy bed and gorgeous bathroom. The room was lovely though a bit hot at night. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and very welcoming. The food was lovely, good breakfast selection. Would definately recommend and especially welcome to dogs.
