Our stay at Grand Hotel Amstelveen was overall average to good, but unfortunately it did not fully meet the expectations of a true 4-star hotel. We had originally booked a Junior Room, however due to a mistake by Agoda, our reservation was registered as a standard room. Agoda’s handling of the situation was disappointing, as they suggested canceling the reservation late at night instead of resolving the issue. Thankfully, the hotel reception staff were very kind and professional and upgraded our room on their own initiative, which we truly appreciated. Regarding room amenities, several important details were missing for a 4-star hotel. There were no toothbrushes or toothpaste, the mini-fridge was empty and turned off, and the amount of tea and coffee provided was very limited for a four-night stay. Most importantly, housekeeping was inconsistent: towels were not changed despite multiple requests, the liquid hand soap ran out and was never refilled, and overall attention to room service was lacking. The toilet paper quality was also below standard and the quantity was insufficient for a couple. The breakfast had limited variety, but the quality was good, and the hotel’s omelet was particularly enjoyable. The staff, in general, were polite and friendly, which was a positive aspect of our stay. The hotel is located outside the city center, and in cold and rainy weather, daily travel by public transport can be time-consuming and tiring. In conclusion, while the hotel has friendly staff and decent breakfast quality, the overall experience felt closer to a well-maintained 3-star hotel rather than a full 4-star property.

We had a very pleasant stay during our visit to Amsterdam. If you are coming by car, this is a perfect location to stay when you visit the city. The neighborhood is quiet and pleasant, the hotel is stylish, rooms are very clean and well equipped, staff is nice and welcoming. Breakfast was also very good, with cold and warm dishes as well. I can only recommend.

Stayed for a night. Overall good facilities, breakfast with good selections. Freshly cook omelette or sunny side up eggs was a good one. Bacon also on the stove.
