Beautiful Chateau & grounds, dating from the 1400's. Very welcoming, speaking to us in English. Shower and towel warmers we're exquisite. Local caramels awaiting us in our room. Breakfast was superb-great options for vegetarians (not so much for vegans). Dinner was lovely-few options for vegetarians (none for vegans). Even though I showed the server on Google Translate that we did not want any meat or seafood, the salad still had bacon on it. Service was slow, especially waiting for the bill (over 15 minutes after asking for it, amhad to ask again. Food was delicious. Gave us an ice bucket in order for us to enjoy wine/champagne that we bought at tastings, in our room. Beautiful gardens of poppies & Lavender with amazing, large bees buzzing around. We rented a hybrid car, and the electric charger there in front of the lobby was so convenient. Unfortunately one night someone who did not have an electric car parked there, preventing us from charging. A sign that the spot is for charging only would help. Lovely organic toiletries & complimentary slippers. USB chargers bedside. Great location for exploring Normandy D-Day sites.

This is what staying in the French country side is all about. Staff were exceptional, the breakfast and dinner very good, and as we had a car, the location was fine to visit Normandy. You can do a day trip to Mont Saint Michel, but we decided to stay in the hotel area close to the island that provides shuttle. Go as early as possible, have early lunch and get out before the crazy mob tourist arrive and you have to wait 30 minutes on line for the shuttle back to hotel.
